About Me

Marie Vympranietsova is a professional waterskier, specializing in jump. She was born in Slovakia in October 13, 1980 and when she was 8 yrs old she moved with her family to Volos, a city in Greece.
Marie studied Computer and Communication Engineering, and when not skiing she works as a civil servant in the court.

Concerning water skiing, she started training for fun when she was 11, affected by her father who was the coach of her local team, and a year later she competed for the first time and won!

Ever since she has been competing internationally in all three events (slalom/tricks/jump) in different kinds of competitions, from European and World Championships to Elite and Masters competitions, achieving in that way many places in the podium and consequently many medals.
Marie has taken part in the US Masters, the Moomba Masters, EAME Championships and World Championships to name just a few.
The latest highlight of her career was the 3rd place in the World Championships in Russia  and in the World Cup in China, in 2011.

What she absolutely LOVES in jumping is the adrenaline rush and the elevated heartbeat when speeding towards the ramp and being in the air!

Nowadays, you can find her training in Greece or Chile in winter, and during the summer, she usually goes to USA or Italy.
Her goal as an athlete is to continue this sport that she is passionate about, focus on her improvement in both jump and slalom skiing, and break her personal record.
